What you’ll make:
A leafy clip headband (hair clip cover) with 8 shaped leaves in two shades.
Sizing / measurements:
One size, adjustable. Work the foundation chain to match the length of your clip, and crochet the band until it is wide enough to cover it neatly.
Yarn:
Fine mercerised cotton crochet thread (100% cotton), in two shades of green.
Needles & notions:
No. 7 steel crochet hook, plastic head clip, millinery wire, sewing needle, matching sewing thread, sequins and beads (optional)
Tension (gauge):
Not critical for this project; aim for a firm, neat fabric suitable for a hair accessory.

Construction notes:
The band is crocheted in double crochet (single crochet) and sewn to the clip. The leaves are worked with a central increase line (in double crochet [single crochet]) using back-loop shaping, then narrowed with half treble (half double crochet) decreases. Millinery wire is sewn to each leaf to help it hold its form, then leaves are stitched to the band and optionally embellished.
