Sleeve seam (approx.): 43 cm (17 ins).

Yarn:
Aran-weight yarn in a hardwearing wool-blend (for example, a wool/acrylic mix). Striped version uses Main + Contrast shades; plain version uses one shade.
Needles & notions:
6.00 mm crochet hook, 5.00 mm crochet hook, 6 toggle fasteners, sewing needle, matching sewing thread, coloured thread marker (for hat rounds)
Tension (gauge):

Construction notes:
The coat is worked in a chain-space pattern with shaping for fronts and neck, buttonhole placement on the right front, shaped sleeves, separate collar and pockets, then finished with double crochet and crab stitch borders.
