Construction / technique notes
You begin at the heel, then work a repeating two-colour block pattern. The toe is shaped by decreasing within each block on alternate rows, then the toe is drawn up and the instep is sewn for approximately 6.5–7.5 cm (2 1/2–3 in). Stitches are picked up around the top edge and the cuff is worked in garter stitch, folded over, then finished with optional pompoms.
Skill level
Intermediate (two-colour handling, carrying yarn, shaping, picking up stitches, seaming).
