What you’ll make: A V-neck waistcoat (vest) with set-in pockets, ribbed borders, cable detail, and button fastening; knit flat and seamed
Yarn: Double Knitting (DK) yarn; main shade A is best as a tweedy, wool or wool-dominant DK; contrast shades B, C and D are best as plain wool or wool-dominant DK.
Needles & notions: 3.75 mm (US 5) and 4 mm (US 6) knitting needles; 5 buttons; stitch holders/spare yarn for pocket stitches; cable needle.
Tension (gauge): 22 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch on 4 mm needles.
