What you’ll make: A long-sleeve sweater with a button-up grandad-style neckband, moss-stitch texture, panel patterning, and cable detailing on the front, finished with set-in sleeves and a neat ribbed neckband.

Sizing/Measurements: To fit bust 32 in (34 in : 36 in : 38 in). Actual garment bust 38 in (40 in : 42 in : 44 in). Length to shoulder 22½ in (23 in : 23½ in : 24 in). Sleeve seam 17 in (17½ in : 17½ in : 18 in).

Yarn: Aran-weight yarn (approximately “Aran / Worsted” thickness). Quantity: 13 (14 : 16 : 17) balls of 50 g Aran-weight yarn (amounts are approximate and depend on tension and yarn choice).

Needles & notions: 3¾ mm and 4½ mm knitting needles; stitch holders; 5 buttons (as specified in the pattern); yarn needle for seaming.

Tension (gauge): 18 stitches and 30 rows to 4 in (10 cm) over moss stitch on 4½ mm needles.

Construction notes: Back and Front are worked flat from the lower edge upwards, with the Front incorporating cable-8 sections at set intervals. The neck is shaped at the top, then a ribbed neckband is picked up and worked after shoulder seaming. Sleeves are worked flat with increases to shape, then set in between markers and seamed. Cuffs are finished as a turn-back detail as shown.
