What you’ll make: A longline, easy-fitting pullover with deep side slits, textured cable panels on body and sleeves, and a shaped circular-style yoke worked from picked-up stitches and finished with a neat ribbed neckband.

Needles & notions: 3¾ mm and 4½ mm straight needles, 4½ mm circular needle, cable needle, stitch holders or spare needles, markers and tapestry needle for finishing.

Tension (gauge): 23 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm over main pattern using 4½ mm needles, measured on a blocked swatch; always adjust needle size if needed to match this gauge.

Construction notes: Back and front are worked flat from a ribbed welt into the all-over cable pattern, then divided for neck and armhole shaping; sleeves are worked flat with patterned increases and a shaped sleeve head; side borders are picked up for the slits; finally, stitches are picked up around armholes and neckline to work the patterned yoke in the round with integrated decreases before finishing the neckband in rib. Pieces are seamed at sides (to the slit), and sleeves are seamed and set in.

Skill level: Confident intermediate — suitable for knitters comfortable with following row-by-row instructions, cabling with a needle, shaping within pattern, and working both flat and in the round.
