A longline, cable-panel tunic jumper with a fold-over cowl and easy set-in sleeves. The fabric has a soft velour, chenille-style surface that reads plush but keeps a neat silhouette.

What you’ll make: A relaxed, hip-skimming tunic with vertical cable columns, side-vent option, and a deep, fold-down cowl. Sizes to fit bust 34–36, 38–40, 42–44 in (86–91, 97–102, 107–112 cm).

Yarn: Textured micro-polyester double knitting (DK), chenille-style/velour handle. 50 g balls: 11 (S), 12 (M), 13 (L). Fibres: 100% polyester. Swatch is essential for pile-style yarns.

Needles & notions: 3¾ mm, 4 mm, 4½ mm knitting needles; cable needle; stitch holders; row counter; markers; tapestry needle.

Tension (gauge): 22 sts × 25 rows = 10 cm (4 in) over pattern on 4 mm needles (or size to obtain gauge).

Recommended yarn: Sirdar Happy Chenille (100% polyester, velour/chenille-style DK). Approx: 37 × 15 g balls (Small), 40 × 15 g balls (Medium), 44 × 15 g balls (Large).

Note: chenille-style DKs vary in density; always swatch to 22 sts on 4 mm and adjust needle size as needed.

Construction notes: Worked flat in pieces: Back, Front, Sleeves; cable pattern set over 12-row repeat; shallow back neck; deeper shaped front neck; collar picked up in rib and graded through 3¾ → 4 → 4½ mm for drape; optional 10 cm side vents; standard make-up and light blocking (steam/press per yarn care).

Skill level: Confident beginner to intermediate (read and maintain cable repeat; neck shaping in pattern; picking up for cowl).
