What you’ll make: Long, button-front women’s jacket with all-over cable panels, ribbed borders, patch pockets, set-in sleeves, and a ribbed collar.

Yarn: Aran weight yarn (heavy worsted). 400 g balls as specified by the original materials list (3–4 balls depending on size).

Needles & notions: 5 mm and 4 mm knitting needles; cable needle; stitch holders; 6 buttons.

Tension (gauge): 23 stitches × 30 rows = 10 cm (4 in) over pattern using 5 mm needles.

Recommended yarn

Rowan Alpaca Classic — approximately 24–32 × 50 g balls, depending on size and whether the collared or hooded version is made.
