Lady’s Jacket — Aran / Heavy Worsted

What you’ll make
A seamed Aran/Heavy Worsted jacket with set-in sleeves, inset pockets, button bands and a fold-back collar. Sizes to fit bust 80–105 cm (32–42 in); finished bust approx. 95–121 cm (38–48½ in).

Yarn
Aran / Heavy Worsted weight wool (non-superwash for structure; superwash or merino–alpaca blends for a softer hand and gentle drape). Approx. 8–10 × 100 g balls depending on size.

Needles & notions
4 mm and 5 mm straight needles; cable needle; markers; stitch holders; 9 buttons.

Tension (gauge)
20 sts × 28 rows = 10 cm in rice stitch on 5 mm needles (or size to get gauge).

Construction notes
Worked flat in pieces: Back, Left Front (with pocket), Right Front (with pocket), Sleeves. Pocket linings are joined as you work. Button bands are picked up with matched buttonholes; collar is grown on and folded to the inside. Block, seam, set sleeves, stitch down collar, finish pockets, sew buttons.
