Women's Long Cowl Hood Diamond Maxi Dress 1163 - Crochet Pattern PDF - Instant Download - Marle & Row
A full-length, diamond motif-based crochet dress worked from the hem upward in repeating twelve-row panels. The open chain-loop fabric and cluster structure block beautifully and allow the length to be adjusted easily. A softly draping hood-collar is worked separately and attached at the neckline, with neat edging and a small button loop at centre back.
What you’ll make
A long crochet dress with open motif texture, gentle shaping at the armholes and neck, and a detachable-style hood-collar worked as a separate panel and sewn in.
Sizing / Measurements
To fit 34 / 36 [36 / 38] inch bust. Finished measurements: 38 [40] inches at hip; 36 [38] inches at underarm; length from shoulder to hem 64 inches (adjustable by adding or subtracting motifs).
Yarn
Fingering / 4-ply yarn with good stitch definition and blocking response. Quantity: 21 [25] balls (exact meterage varies by brand; swatching recommended).
Needles & notions
3.50 mm crochet hook for main fabric; 3.00 mm crochet hook for edging; one small button.
Tension (gauge)
Each motif measures 12 rows to 3½ inches and 7 chain-5 loops to 4 inches, worked on a 3.50 mm hook and measured after blocking.
Recommended yarn: Rowan Fine Art Sock — Yarn quantities (100 g balls): 21 (25).
Also suitable (currently available):
Lang Yarns Jawoll Silk, Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Lace, Drops Fabel Long Print, West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply, Malabrigo Sock.
Construction notes
Worked from the hem up in repeating twelve-row motif panels. Length is adjusted before changing to the smaller hook. Back and shoulder seams are sewn flat. Armhole and neck shaping are worked into a central loop set. The hood-collar is made separately as a long chain-loop panel and attached at the neckline, then finished with edging rounds and a button loop.
Skill level
Confident crochet (openwork motifs, clusters, shaping, blocking).
