A bold, textured chevron crochet afghan with alternating ridge bands and open lace panels, designed for a deep zig-zag finish and strong stitch definition.
What you’ll make
A large rectangular afghan (throw blanket) with deep chevron points formed by the stitch pattern. The fabric alternates back-loop ridge sections with lacy V-stitch chevron bands.
Sizing / fit
Finished size approximately 46 inches by 66 inches (117 cm by 168 cm).
Yarn
Two strands held together throughout to create a chunky-weight fabric (UK chunky; US bulky / #5 equivalent). Brushed acrylic or other soft, lofty yarns show the texture clearly.
Needles & notions
9.00 mm crochet hook (size N) or size needed to match gauge.
Stitch marker or a short length of contrast yarn for marking the right side.
Tension (gauge)
10 single crochet = 4 inches (10 cm).
10 rows = 6½ inches (16.5 cm), measured point to point.

Yarn Suggestions Disclaimer
Yarn suggestions are examples chosen to match the pattern’s yarn weight and the kind of stitch definition needed for the texture. They are not endorsements of any particular brand or fibre. Always make and measure a tension swatch and adjust hook size to match the stated gauge. If your chosen chunky (bulky / category #5) yarn has a different meterage per ball, you may need more or fewer balls than another yarn of the same weight. Substitutions are at the crocheter’s discretion, and Marle & Row accept no responsibility for the performance, appearance, washability or durability of any specific yarn or finished item.
