Needles & notions: 4.50 mm crochet hook; 1 button (hat); felt for bag lining (¾ yd, 36 in width).

Tension (gauge): Two pattern motifs = 2 in in width using 4.50 mm hook; swatch and adjust hook to match.

Recommended yarn: Sirdar Snuggly DK (55% nylon / 45% acrylic), 50 g balls — Hat: 4 × 50 g, Scarf: 9 × 50 g, Bag: 9 × 50 g.

Construction notes: Hat worked in the round from a foundation chain with crown draw-in, shaped peak, and dc edging; scarf worked flat in repeating groups with side edgings and tassels; bag worked as mirrored panels from a long foundation chain, seamed, with two grown-on strap pieces and all-around edging; felt lining cut and hand-stitched to fit.

Skill level: Confident beginner–intermediate.
